Welcome to my review of the Puni Ana ROID 17 Onahole from Hatopla. This being entry number 17 in the series, there is a good chance you heard about it already and if not, you surely have heard at some point of the Puni Ana DX Onahole series that this is part of unless you are totally new to Onahole or Japanese Sex Toys in general.
The Roid series, coming from AndROID is a sub series of the original Puni Ana ones and features exclusively electric powered Onaholes and toys. There are very popular which is I guess is the reason that we reached 17 already here. So let’s see if the rather steep price is justified and if the Puni Ana ROID 17 can fulfill your needs.
Packaging and presentation
The box packaging of the Puni Ana ROID 17 Onahole is large and houses the electric powered toy inside a large plastic blister, together with a little lube and an instruction manual which comes with Japanese and English.
The front shows a large illustration of Hatopla’s (former EXE) top seller Puni Ana, drawn my maruku. She is wearing an Android like suit, fitting the overall theme well and holding the toy that we are checking out now. The presentation looks good and the artwork sets the right tone but one complaint I have is how thin the cardboard box is and if you have read other reviews of mine already, you perhaps know how much I hate this. For a toy costing this much, having such a cheap feeling packaging just doesn’t sit right with me. Having this out of the way, let’s move on to the toy itself and see if it can make up for this little shortcoming.
Using the Puni Ana ROID 17 Onahole
The Puni Ana ROID 17 Onahole looks rather simple and generic on the outside I must say. It comes in a sleep black finish and only reveals itself as an adult toy on the second look. While this may be great to others, I would have liked something a bit more exciting design wise. It gives a bit of repackaged Alibaba toy vibes which isn’t really a compliment.
The is electric powered, that much we know already. It can be charged via USB and in my experience the battery was good for about 45 minutes, depending on the speed settings you choose. In total there are 9 different Vibration patterns which mostly are just different speed and different moving patterns. While it is fun to play around with it, it is pretty much standard as with most of these kind of toys and nothing really new. The inner sleeve does not go all the way through and Hatopla went with a kind of open concept here, meaning half way in you can see your Dick in action which I guess is nice but I would have preferred something with a bit more tightness and grip. This is also where my biggest issues with this comes in, the sleeve is relatively wide. While I was ok with it, if you do not have much girth on your member, then you might as well don’t even bother with the toy as for this, it is too wide and open. So you need to have a rather thick Penis to properly enjoy it, this being the reason why I said above that I would have preferred something more enclosed and tight.
If however all these obstacles do not bother you or are no problem for you, then you can have a good time with the Puni Ana ROID 17 Onahole. Once in action, it jerks you off well and the speedier you go with the settings, the faster you are done. While the inner sleeve does have some texture, it is not really intense or present, and so mostly what you feel is being jerked off quick and hard, if you have enough girth for it.
While the Puni Ana ROID 17 Onahole also is supposed to be water proof, I was careful with the Lube and did not add too much. The inner sleeve however is quite easy to clean and then piece together again. Quality wise however everything feels a tiny bit cheap and I can see the sleeve giving up before the motor does in which case, you might as well toss it in the trash as to my knowledge, Hatopla does not sell the sleeves separately.
My Final thoughts
I think if you made it this far, you kinda get my overall point here. This might be one of my most negative reviews in a while and god knows that I was really looking forward to this. However, unless you are a die hard Puni Ana fan, I can not really see this Onahole being a good choice. For the whooping cost of nearly $130 you can literally buy 3 great Onaholes including shipping from Japan with still enough left for a couple of beers. Sorry, but I hope that rather than focusing on quantity, Hatopla would focusing on quality with their Puni Ana Roid Onahole series.
Final score: 3/10
